About the trainer/owner:
My name is Salvatore Piazza, and I have been been training dogs since 1981. Since that time I received many awards, certificates, and commendations for my expertise in the dog training field. I was a K-9 handler at Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in 1989. I was also responsible for training and certifying two K-9 teams during my employment at the museum. I attended Gold Shield Training Kennels and received my diploma from Sgt. Dan Bowman of the Camden Police Department. Dan was and still is considered the best Police dog trainer in the entire Northeast. Many Police Officers that we have worked with still call us "The Dynamic Duo" because they felt we were a perfect team.
I was hired in 1993 as Chief of Security for the Utica Parks system and supervised 5 security officers. I attended Deerfield Firearms Training Facility in 1995 and received my Certification as an Armed Body Guard. It was then that I became a private investigator with the same company. In October 1998, I was hired by Commissioner Doug Astralaga as the K-9 Director of the Utica Police Department. I became a Police Officer in 2003 for the St. Johnsville Police Department and was hired to work as a K-9 Handler. I am also a member of NAPWDA North American Police Work Dog Association. I am a CGC examiner for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. I am also an Instructor at Mohawk Valley Community College teaching animal behavior.
My expertise far surpasses any other dog trainer in the Mohawk Valley. I have worked with many very good trainers from around the Northeast and as far as Europe.
In conclusion, I would like to state that anyone who trains at our facility can be assured that their dogs are in good hands. I will personally see to it that when you have completed your training course, you will leave with a smile on your face and a dog that is trained better than you could have imagined.
