Setting the Record Straight: Enough is Enough
It has come to my attention that Paula Russello of Complete Canine has made some false statements to former employees of their facility and possibly others. I find it disturbing that she feels the need to make such statements and continue her nonsense. To anyone who has heard from Ms Russello or Dave Carr of Complete Canine that I am out of business and sold my kennels that is a complete falsehood.
The fact is, since 2008, I am no longer in the boarding and breeding business. Therefore I sold my facility because I no longer had a need for the building. I have never stopped training dogs and still serve the entire Mohawk Valley and Central NY.
At Piazza's Professional Dog Training School/K-9 Services Unlimited, we are still going very strong. After 30 years in this profession we are still the number one dog training school in Central NY.
Mr. Carr and Paula Russello should be ashamed because they have been misleading the public for years now. Not only do they lie about their dog training experience, but they attack anyone who they feel is a threat to their business. Let's all pray for these two individuals so that God may forgive them. However, since I am not God, I will state for the record that Dave and Paula should seek a counselor for their habitual lying.
If anyone has any questions regarding anything I say to be true, please call me or email.
Thank you
Salvatore Piazza
In my 26 years of professionally training dogs, I have always taught my clients to treat people with dignity and respect. I have built my business on honesty and integrity and have always conducted myself as a true professional. However, there comes a time when a person has to take a stand and set the record straight in regards to other trainers who exaggerate their experience and mislead the public. Therefore, I have no other choice than to clarify some of these falsehoods. It has come to my attention that two former students who enrolled in my instructor's program, have taken credit by using dogs that were trained by me. The dog's names are as follows: Damian, Cleo, and Arko . They also own a dog named, Lina, who was bred by me.
In 2005, Dave Carr enrolled in my Obedience Instructors Course to learn how to train dogs. At that time, Dave had no knowledge or experience whatsoever in the dog handling or training field. After a few months, Dave enrolled in my Police Service Dog Instructors Program. (See his testimonial in our old commercial.) At that time, Dave had no experience whatsoever in the dog training field. A couple of years later, Mr. Carr also wanted to learn about breeding dogs, so I stated to him that the best way to start a breeding program was to import a couple of dogs from Europe. He agreed, and I imported three German Shepherd dogs. After training at my facility, I offered to give Dave the dog, Cleo to start his breeding program. Cleo was finished in obedience, protection, agility, and 3/4 of the way done in tracking. Arko was purchased from one of my litters while Dave was enrolled in my instructor's course and was taught obedience, protection, agility, and some tracking.
Damian was solely owned by me for a little over a year and was fully trained in protection, obedience (on and off leash), agility, tracking, and some building search. Lina, who is owned by Dave Carr, is also from one of my litters. However, no training was done at my facility. Dave Carr did in fact complete my obedience instructors program. However, he never completed the police service dog instructor course. Therefore, he never graduated.
Paula Russello also enrolled in my obedience instructor's course in January 2007. After my evaluation of Paula, I realized that she had very little knowledge in the dog training field. During her hands on training at my school, she was warned several times that she was being too hard on the dogs, and I received a few complaints from clients. In fact, Paula slapped an 11 week old puppy on the nose and she was told never hit a dog ever again. It was also mentioned to me by Dave Carr, who was training at that time, that he too noticed her harsh corrections. After 10 weeks of a 20 week training program, I informed Ms. Russello that she would be better served by training with Dave Carr, and I terminated her contract. It should be noted that Paula Russello still had a balance of $1,800 in which I gracefully let her out of the financial commitment. When she enrolled she stated she suffered from cancer and didn't have the money so I put her on a payment plan. So again, she should be thankful that I was so nice forgiving her the rest of her debt. I was then informed that she really never had cancer in the first place. Shame on you Ms. Russello for deceiving people for personal gain.
On many occasions, I have requested that Paula Russello and Dave Carr advise the public whenever they use any of these dogs for demonstration to state that they were trained by Sal Piazza. I was assured by both Paula and Dave that they would mention it. However, this never happened.
As I previously stated, my business has been built on honesty and integrity. To mislead the public by using dogs that were trained by another trainer to show your expertise is dishonest and unfair.
This is why I have written this page. I wanted to set the record straight.
If anyone witnesses either Dave or Paula using any of the three dogs I trained, remember that it was my expertise, and you are seeing the results of training at Piazza's Professional Dog Training School.
